Vein Matting

What is vein matting?

Vein matting, aka telangiectasis, is the development of a cluster of extremely fine spider veins that appear as a red or purple patch on your skin. It is often mistaken for bruises or rosacea. However, spider vein matting does not fade with time. Overweight individuals and those with extensive surface veins are more likely to experience vein matting.

What are the treatment options for vein matting?

Because the veins are tiny, even the smallest needle has trouble entering the area. Typically laser treatments work best to correct vein matting.
